"I'm not nearly as trailblazing as my mom or grandmother and the other women in my family, but I'm not sure I want to be," Kit says. "I don't think I'd want to fend off a band of angry bush whackers with a shotgun and a broomstick. But if I had to, I'd give it my best shot."
Kit is a professional journalist and is the two-time, first-place winner of the Writers' League of Texas and Merritt awards. She is a member of the Texas Press Association, and is certified in Search & Rescue. Kit lives on Lake Travis just outside Austin, Texas, with her dog, Tahoe, who plays a significant role in the mystery series, and is willing to work without a contract.
